Hype Cart

Payment logos

Updated Sep 10, 20262 min read

Payment logos is the row of payment-method marks under the checkout button. It is on in every new cart, showing four marks: Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Apple Pay.

The marks are pictures, not buttons. They reassure shoppers about what you accept; they do not start a payment. Express checkout buttons live on Shopify's checkout page.

Choosing marks

  1. Expand Payment logos in the module list.
  2. Click a logo to add it, click it again to remove it.
  3. Selected logos show a number — that is the order they render in, which is the order you clicked them.

You can show up to eight. Once eight are selected the rest are greyed out; deselect one to free a slot.

Twenty-six logos are available: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Maestro, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, Amazon Pay, iDEAL, Bancontact, TWINT, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Shop Pay, Affirm, Afterpay, RuPay, BHIM UPI, Google Pay (UPI), Paytm and PhonePe.

Pick the ones you actually accept

Hype does not check the list against your Shopify payment settings, and it does not adjust the row per market. Whatever you select is shown to every shopper who sees this cart.

Two consequences worth planning around:

  • Showing a logo you do not accept is a promise you break at checkout, which is worse than showing nothing.
  • If your local methods differ by market — iDEAL in the Netherlands, TWINT in Switzerland, UPI marks in India — make a separate cart for that market, set its own logo row, and target it with Activation → Specific markets. See Activating and scheduling a cart.

Footnote

The module has one editable string, Footnote, empty by default. Use it for a line such as Secure payment under the row, or leave it empty and let the logos speak.

When it is hidden

The module renders nothing when you have deselected every logo and left the footnote empty. Unlike most footer modules, it does not hide on an empty cart — the marks stay visible while a shopper's cart is empty.

Placement

The row starts in the Footer, directly under the checkout button. That is where shoppers read it as "these are accepted here". Moving it to the Top bar turns it into decoration above the products, which is rarely what you want.

Order and legibility

Marks render at a single size in one visual family, so a row of eight stays even. Even so, four to six reads better than eight on a 420px drawer — put the methods your shoppers actually use first, and drop the long tail.

Translation

Footnote carries a translate button when your store publishes more than one language. The logos themselves are images and do not need translating. See Translating your drawer.
