Hype Cart

Choose a plan

Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read

Open the Plan page in Hype Cart Drawer, pick one of the two choices, and approve the subscription in Shopify. Nothing is charged while your store takes 100 or fewer paid orders in a 30-day billing cycle, whichever choice you make.

What the Plan page shows

Top to bottom:

  • Your current tier, with the paid orders counted so far in this cycle and what the next charge will be. Before you have subscribed, it shows your paid orders over the last 30 days instead, so the prices below are priced at your real volume.
  • Two choices, side by side: this app on its own, and Hype Suite, which covers all four Hype apps. Each is priced at the tier your order count falls in, with the note "Approve in Shopify. Nothing is charged under 100 orders a month."
  • All prices — a collapsed table of every tier and its price. Open it to see what you would pay at higher volumes.
  • Have a discount code? — a link that opens the code field. Redeem a code before approving; see Discount codes for your plan.
  • Billing history — the charges Hype has posted for your store.

Approve the subscription

  1. Go to Plan in Hype Cart Drawer's sidebar.
  2. Read both choices. If you already use, or plan to use, more than one Hype app, compare the Suite price against them added together — see The Hype Suite subscription.
  3. Click the button on the choice you want.
  4. Shopify opens its own approval screen. Read it and click Approve.
  5. Shopify returns you to the Plan page, which now shows your current tier and the date the cycle ends.

What the Shopify approval screen means

Shopify shows a usage-based charge with a maximum amount — a ceiling for the 30-day period. That ceiling is the highest tier's price for what you are subscribing to, and it is there because Shopify requires a stated limit for usage charges. Approving it is not a charge and does not commit you to that amount.

Two things follow from it:

  • You are never charged more than the ceiling in a 30-day period, whatever your order volume does.
  • Shopify emails you when your usage approaches the ceiling. That is a Shopify notification, not a warning from Hype.

The screen also shows the plan terms generated from the price table: the tiers, the order ranges, and the rule that a cycle is billed at the highest tier its order count reaches.

Nothing is charged below 101 paid orders

The lowest tier is free and open-ended. A store that stays at or under 100 paid orders in a cycle pays nothing, for as long as it stays there — it is not a trial that runs out. Above that, your first 7 days on a paid tier are free; see The free trial.

Changing your mind

You can cancel from the Plan page at any time; access continues to the end of the cycle you have already started. You can move from this app's own plan up to Hype Suite from the same page. See Cancelling and refunds.

If the page says you are already covered

If another Hype app on your store holds a Hype Suite subscription, this app's Plan page shows Included in Hype Suite instead of the two choices, with a link to open the app that bills you. Nothing to do here — manage or cancel that subscription from the app that holds it.

If your store has been granted free access, a banner names the date it runs until. Pick a plan for when it ends; nothing is charged before then.
