What works together today
Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read
The four Hype apps mostly work side by side rather than through each other. One cross-app feature is live today: bundles built in Hype Bundles render correctly inside the Hype Cart Drawer. Two more are designed but not available yet — cart goals from Hype Discounts inside the drawer, and Hype Upsell offers inside the drawer.
This article says exactly which is which, so you do not spend an afternoon looking for a setting that does not exist.
Live today
Bundle lines in the cart drawer
If you run both Hype Bundles and Hype Cart Drawer, a bundle added to the cart appears in the drawer as the customer expects: the bundle's components are grouped under their parent line rather than scattered as loose products at odd prices.
Nothing to configure. Install both, and the drawer picks it up.
Discounts alongside everything else
All four apps create ordinary Shopify discounts, so a Hype Discounts campaign, a Hype Bundles price and a Hype Upsell offer follow Shopify's normal rules for stacking. Whether two of them combine is decided by the Combinations settings on each discount, exactly as it would be between any two Shopify discounts. That is Shopify's behavior, not Hype's — see Shopify's guidance on combining discounts.
One subscription
Hype Suite covers all four apps under one subscription. See The Hype Suite subscription.
One free-access grant
If Hype grants your store free access in one app, all four honor it.

Cart goals from Hype Discounts inside the cart drawer
A tiered cart-goal campaign built in Hype Discounts does not currently render as a progress bar inside the Hype Cart Drawer. The two apps are designed to connect here and the connection is not finished.
What you can do today:
- Show the cart goal with Hype Discounts' own storefront blocks — the progress bar block placed on your cart page or cart drawer template. That works whether or not Hype Cart Drawer is installed.
- Use the Hype Cart Drawer's own goals, configured in the drawer editor, for goals shown inside the drawer.
Do not expect a campaign built in one to appear in the other.
Hype Upsell offers inside the cart drawer
Upsells created in Hype Upsell target Shopify's checkout, thank-you and post-purchase surfaces. They do not appear inside the Hype Cart Drawer. The cart-drawer surface is disabled in the Hype Upsell admin for that reason.
What you can do today: use the Hype Cart Drawer's own in-drawer product recommendations, configured in the drawer editor.
Things to watch when you run more than one
- Shopify's limit on active automatic discounts applies across all apps. Every automatic discount on your store counts toward it, whichever app created it — Hype's, another app's, or one you made by hand.
- Volume pricing can be set in two places. Hype Discounts has volume discounts and Hype Bundles has quantity breaks. If both target the same products, you have two discounts competing for the same cart line. Pick one app per product.
- Test with a real cart. The only reliable check of how two apps interact is adding the products to a cart on your published theme and going through to checkout.
Where this is going
The seams above are designed and partly built. If one of them is the reason you are considering a second Hype app, ask in the in-app chat before you install, and add it to the Feature requests section on the Support page so it is counted. See Getting help.
